The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust's award-winning real-time parking website, ParkPGH, shows you exactly how many spaces are available in garages throughout the Cultural District and beyond — check it before you leave the house or have a passenger monitor it on the go! 5,000 parking spots are in the Cultural District alone, plus thousands more within a very short walk. Don't forget about options on the North Shore, which is a short and beautiful walk over the Allegheny River away. You can review those options at ParkPGH, too!
Port Authority of Allegheny County provides public transportation services throughout Pittsburgh and Allegheny County by bus, light rail, incline, and paratransit for more than 200,000 riders daily. All route and fare information is available at PortAuthority.org.
On New Year's Eve, children 12 and under can ride for free to and from Highmark First Night Pittsburgh when accompanied by an adult wearing an Admission Button (this offer is valid from 4 pm on Dec. 31 through the end of Port Authority’s service day).
Port Authority will operate on a regular weekday schedule on December 31st, though service is limited after midnight. If you plan to use public transportation, please plan ahead and check transit schedules — not all routes offer service after midnight. Specific route details are available on the Port Authority's website.
Most major streets leading into and out of downtown’s Cultural District remain open to traffic before, during, and following the event. All Pittsburgh Parking Authority and other nearby parking garages remain open with few exceptions for the convenience of daytime commuters and event visitors later in the evening.
