Dollar Bank Battle of the Bands
Bring Your Music to the Main Stage!
We’re calling on musicians 18+ to showcase their talent, energy, and stage presence for this live music competition. Whether you’re a solo artist or part of a full band, all musical styles and arrangements are welcome.
Cover songs are allowed, but originality and creativity are encouraged. We’re looking for diverse acts across genres, backgrounds, and styles—every kind of music is welcome.
Applications open September 14 and close November 1, 2025. Four finalists will be selected and awarded a performance fee to compete live on the Highmark Main Stage, with an energetic MC and a panel of esteemed musical judges.
PLEASE NOTE: This application is for bands/artists 18+, the GBU Life SING-OFF Competition is a separate application for singers in grades 6-12.
The winning act will:
- Receive an additional cash prize
- Be featured in marketing and PR promotions
- Get their name in front of thousands of attendees as they ring in the New Year with a live countdown performance
- Earn a featured spot at the 2026 Dollar Bank Three Rivers Arts Festival—one of Pittsburgh's biggest arts festivals

Additional details:
- Pittsburgh Cultural Trust will provide artists with a drum kit and basic sound equipment including mics and monitors.
- Solo bands will be considered.
- Applications from musical acts with a range of artists and instruments will be prioritized.
- Eight bands will make it to the semi-finals and will go through a public online voting process. Four bands will be selected for the final round on stage at Highmark First Night Pittsburgh 2026.
