The winner of this year's Williams SING-OFF Competition is Lindsay Liebro
17-year-old Pittsburgh native Lindsay Liebro is honored to be this year’s Williams Sing-Off Competition winner. From a young age, Liebro has been singing, performing, and writing songs. After winning WYEP's Singer-Songwriter Competition in 2020 as the youngest contestant, she has gone on to begin achieving many of her dreams. Her first song "Boardwalk" was created as part of the 2021 WYEP Reimagination Project that showcases the talent of young Pittsburgh musicians. From there, it became the most streamed song on the album. This fall, her new song “Wasted Potential” went viral on Twitter after being confused for an unreleased Taylor Swift song, and her release has since garnered over 140k streams. She continues to perform around Pittsburgh, even performing at the Three Rivers Arts Festival, and was recently named a top 3 finalist for the Women Who Rock Rising Star Contest.
Every year, the Williams SING-OFF Competition awards a local student singer (grades 6-12) with an opportunity to perform live in the Cultural District at Highmark First Night Pittsburgh on New Year's Eve, a $500 cash prize, and $1,000 donation to the student's school music department. Along the way, finalists' audition videos are judged by a special guest celebrity judge. This year, that's Adam Pascal!
Adam Pascal starred as the original Roger Davis in the Off Broadway, Broadway and London Productions of Rent (Tony Award nomination) and originated the role of Radames in Broadway’s Aida. Other Broadway credits include the final Emcee in the Roundabout’s Cabaret, Huey Calhoun in Memphis, Billy Flynn in Chicago, Chad in Disaster, William Shakespeare in Something Rotten! and, most recently, Edward Lewis in Broadway’s Pretty Woman.
